Examples
To go to an Example:
  • Click on the red block.
  • Set the Joystick to step
  • Click the Joystick though one-step-at-a-time
  • For dynamic examples, change other Joystick variables and step through the example again.

One-Step-At-A-Time: The reason that you understand examples in class is that your instructor shows you the steps one at a time. EnableMath does the same. Take your time and go through the steps one by one. Be sure that you understand each step before you do the next. Remember you can go backwards as well as forwards.

Problems in math may seem hard at first glance but if you break them down into a series of individual steps, most are easy to solve. Getting used to doing this is a good skill to learn.

Visualizations: Many of the examples have the steps linked with the conceptual visualizations so that you can see why each step is taken.

Dynamic Examples: Many examples are dynamic. That is our way of telling you that you can explore them by changing their values creating different problems to step through.

The Student Guide: The Student Guide usually shows pictures of these Example screens at or near the last Step so that you can see the entire derivation just like a textbook shows.

The Examples icon is a red cube. Increase the value of the Joystick parameter 'step' to step through the problem.
