Answers: Be sure to check the Assignment Notes by clicking on the? icon on the bottom of the screen to be sure that you are answering the problem in the right way!

Math Symbols: As you are typing in your answer, we are converting it to standard mathematical notation. Remember that * means times, ^ means power on the computer keyboard. Be sure to check the standard math notation as you type in your answer so that you can be sure that you typed it in properly.

Wrong Answers: What happens if I get a problem wrong? You will see a pink stripe in your data and an x and within a red dot in the right/wrong column. We all make mistakes. Remember this is homework, it is practice, it is a chance to make mistakes without consequences. If you get a problem wrong we keep your progress where it was and give you the next problem at about that same level. If you get one wrong we think that is just a simple mistake. If you get more than one problem wrong in a row, then we take your progress back a little so that you can work on easier problems that will help you to get the hard ones right.

Work it out on paper: We strongly suggest that you don’t do problems in your head, but do them on scrap paper so that you don’t make “stupid” mistakes.

Mastery: When you reach mastery you are done with that assignment. You can always go back and do more problems whenever you want. The mastery rating on the left side of the screen shows the minimum mastery level.

The Problems icon is a green circle.
